Granddaddy pasted away years ago. His sister and Granny continued to check in with his sister, Aunt Bessie, for years. Aunt Bessie gave Granny her trunk with all the pictures and many more items for save keeping. At 95 Granny went to assisted living and her house was sold. All these treasures were found as we went through that process. I spent 3 days with Granny going through all the pictures. It should have been done years earlier, but she recalled many stories, etc. which I recorded because I knew I could never remember them all over time. It was a very special opportunity to spend that time with Granny. Now, I have the previlege and obligation to scrap all those memories.

Wow! I am so glad you went to my blog and found the burnt edged elements there. I did not think of combining them with the yellow paper or conchos but they really look wonderful together. I love the way our ancestors are so resourceful and used a quilt as a backdrop. How wonderful that Granny was able to go through the pictures with you and remember even at 95. Thank you for sharing these family memories. Good luck in the contest!

So glad you linked this LO from your great grandfather's page, as I hadn't seen this before. This is an awesome heritage page with those wonderful old photos and journaling. So glad you were able to get some of the family history from your granny.
