I love the way you included the photos here... and don't feel bad about not quilting... I don't think you are alone... In fact... I know you are not, because I don't think I will ever be able to do it either... hate to say "never"... but it is highly doubtful. My Mom got into quilting a little bit the last few years of her life. She did small projects, like tree skirts for Christmas. I have two of them. They are priceless to me... I will have to do a page about them one of these days. I think this turned out to be another wonderful addition to your heritage book! Great Job!

Such a beautiful page and an awesome quilt block. I used to quilt a LOT before I started digital scrapbooking but I don't recall seeing a block quite like this. The inside section is usually called a pinwheel block and the outside is sometimes called a friendship star block. This is a very cool way to scrap something that was special to your great grandmother. Love the photos!

That's such a lovely idea to scrap as a quilt. I love the way the photos have been used as two of the pieces. Very nice memory keeper.

What an inspired idea it was to use the quilt piece as a frame cum background and to fit the photos into it. You´ve created a very striking and original page and of course a very fitting page for a quilt designer! Wonderful work. Helen

Thank you all for your encouraging comments! It seemed a little odd using the block pattern for the layout, but wanted to try it and liked the result. Thanks Diane for info on the patterns as I know very few. The stitching: well, this is digital, so my "stitches" are so fine that you can't see them! I also liked using the Club Deco kit for the pieces as the kits have so many different takes on the same colors and themes and so coordinate wonderfully.

What a great way to exhibit some heritage photos - with a quilt as the background. So imaginative. Lovely use of the kit and you even left the name of the quilt.

Love this page, it is so original. Putting the photos on each side, info around other places. Wonderful job on this Jean!! I wish my great grandmother would have had some kind of scrapbook about her quilts and things. She made beautiful ones, but they have all disappeared. You are so lucky to have that info at your fingertips!!
