In January 1991, Alvy started to feel
sick. He thought he had a stomach virus,
and just dealt with it for a few weeks.
When he didn’t start feeling better
by the beginning of February, he
decided to go see a doctor about it.
The doctor thought he might have
hepatitis, and had some tests done.
When those came back clear,
they ran some more tests, to
find out what was wrong… On Thursday,
February 14, 1991, Alvy was diagnosed with cancer.
The doctor told him that it was so far gone, that they could do nothing about it. It had already
destroyed much, including his liver… That night he tried joking it off… Which was so him. A tease to the end… By the week-
end he was back in the hospital, because he was feeling so bad… And on Monday, February 18th, he went home to be with the
Lord… Just 4 days after being diagnosed. It happened so fast, it was hard for everyone to process what had happened… But
they were thankful that he didn’t have to suffer for a long time… He was in a better place.

This is a beautiful record of his short ordeal for your children. As you say, shocking but better than suffering for years. He sounds like he was a wonderful man and you must miss him in your lives.
You have created such a lovely memory page here.
