Since it did not work well in the past, why did my parents saddle me with that name? Apologies to all Marthas who DO like the name. I do not have photos of further back ladies, but used a version for the middle Martha of her sister Mary.
Many thanks to Lorene Hill for creating this Quick Page (in the QP swap for Jan) from Theta - Twined Vines as it is perfect for my story.

Your journaling amused me since it looks as though you have more in common with the other Marthas than just your name. You´ve inherited the aversion to it as well. Some have gone to great lengths to avoid using it. Patsey is a very inventive take on Martha! This is a lovely QP and just right for displaying all those Marthas, and the addition of Theta´s elements makes it perfect.

Oh Jean, this is wonderful! I love it! The quick page by Lorene Hill is the perfect foundation for your page and the elements you added from Theta really add that extra pizazz! You should be very pleased with the way this turned out! Thank you so much for participating in my little challenge! Great addition to your scrapbook!

How interesting...loved reading the history of your name. And, how funny that your ancestors also choose to not go by Martha. Martha and Jean are very pretty together...I could see people using both names and calling you Martha Jean!

You could be MJ like Spiderman's girlfriend. What a great story about a name that no one cared for and yet has been handed down again and again. Love your sense of humor.
