You have a face! Your features are becoming more obvious, as your
lips, tongue and nostrils, as well as the buds for 20 baby teeth are
already present. Your back muscles are growing along the spinal
column, and your reproductive organs have started to form and
soon will become either testes or ovaries. Your arms and legs are
growing and elbows and knees appear as well. Your fingers and toes
are starting to show but are still webbed. You are about
8 - 11 mm or 0.31 - 0.43 inches in length.

We had my first prenatal appointment with Dr. Prescott today.
We hadn’t seen him since Jan ‘95, when we went in to see why
I wasn’t getting pregnant. It was nice to see him again… We
talked with him for a while, getting my medical history. Then,
since my system is so irregular, he decided to do an ultrasound
to see how far along I was. I was thrilled that I was going to get
to see you! Soon Dr. Prescott had to machine on and had you in
his sights. I could see a black circle, which was your amniotic sac
and then a little white “bean” that was fluttering. Dr. Prescott pointed
to it and said it was your heart beat… If I hadn’t already been in love
with you, I would have been then! I was so focused on you that at first
I didn’t notice that Dr. Prescott had become concerned with Daddy, and
was asking him how he felt. I looked over at him and he was as WHITE
as a ghost! I have never seen skin that white… I didn’t even know that skin
could get that white!… Daddy later told me that when he saw your heart beat a chill went through him and that he felt a little
sick to his stomach… Dr. Prescott made Daddy lie down on the floor, and put his feet in a chair. When he was on his way to get Daddy some
water he dryly said, “Oh, he’s going to do real good in the delivery room.” It was pretty funny. Poor Daddy… Anyway, Dr. Prescott says
you are measuring at 7.2 weeks gestation, which gives you a due date of January 19, 1998. A day later than I was thinking. He said that
you are only a quarter of an inch long, which is so amazing to me… That you could be that small and already have a heart beat! God
is amazing! … For the rest of the day I gazed at your ultrasound picture and read the pregnancy magazine that Dr. Prescott gave me.

Hehehe, another great story... Hope dad did okay in the delivery room and wasn't laying down with you.
