Journaling (A):
You are growing rapidly. Your bones are continuing to harden and the pads of
your fingers and toes are formed. You even have your own set of fingerprints
developing as well. You are approximately 5.5 inches and weigh about
200 grams (7.5 ounces)… You can kick, swallow, and sleep. You also
are developing your stomach, intestine and colon and the intestines collect
meconium (the initial stool a baby will pass after birth). If you are a
boy, the prostate will begin to develop this week as well. Your skin is still
a bit pink and transparent and your ears still stick out from your head.
Your four-chambered heart begins to build up muscle cells and is pumping
between 25 and 30 quarts of blood per day.

I am 18 weeks along now… exactly 4 months. Only
5 more months to go!… Tonight I was laying
on the bed reading. Even though I am probably getting
to far along to do it, I was sort of laying on my
stomach (more on my side than stomach). I was lost in my
book until I felt it… Kick, kick… Yes, you read
that right! I felt you kick for the first time! It was awesome!
I then started to notice a lot of “fluttery” feelings, and I knew
that was you too… I then realized that I had been feeling the flutters
for a while now, and I just never knew what they were… You know,
having never gotten this far along with a baby before. All
I know is that I love to feel you kick and move
inside me! It’s the most amazing thing in the
world! … I called Daddy at work to tell
him that I felt you, and he was excited
too. He can’t wait until he can
feel you move too!

Phenominal journaling of your pregnancy and a tribute of love to your wee one. I love that you've put photos along the side of the development.

This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us. That is the most wonderful experience, but with your background it would have been even more marvelous.

This is such a lovely idea. I really like the fact you have your thoughts next to the way your baby is growing. Isn't it the most amazing feeling when you first feel them move.

What has your son said about all you have written while he was growing? He is old enough now to have some ideas on it all...
