Journaling reads:My 4th Gt. Grandfather. Pvt. Jacob Hill Jamison, 48th PA Volunteer Army, Company E Jacob volunteered for the Union Army when he was 40 yrs. old. He fought at Gettysburg, The Wilderness and was shot in the right shoulder during the Spotsylvania Court House Battle, resulting in his right arm being amputated. Before the war, he was a carpenter but after loosing his arm, he had to become a farmer to support his family.

How awesome it is that you have this much information on him that far back in the family, not to mention the totally awesome pictures as well. This is very patriotic.

Wow!! He is lucky to have survived the amputation back then, under the conditions they had to work in. What a strong man and just kept going. Awesome tribute to him!!

Absolutely terrific layout! Your journaling is awesome and your photos are A+. Truly a delightful page. BTW, I lived in Spotsylvania's neighboring county for 20 years and the history in this area is awesome.
