Well, to be pollitically correct, I had to give my Dad equal time in the memory department! LOL... so here are some memories about times spent with him...
Sunday with Dad
Matthew, when I was a little girl, every
Sunday my Dad would pick us up to spend time
with him. Memories of my Dad and
my childhood include, Spearmint Gum... your Papa
always chewed gum after he quit smoking. There
were so many trips to his favorite store... Kmart,
where it never failed... I would get lost, and I
would have to search and search for him! I would
get so upset! At Christmas time, Dad would give
us the change he had saved up all year in a cup in
his office, and he would take us shopping to Kmart,
and we would buy presents with all that change...
the poor girls at the check out counters used to
have to count out all that change!
Your Papa used to do really cool things with us,
like take us bowling, or to the movies,
roller or ice skating, skiing, we always had fun.
In the summer time, Papa had a boat,
he would take us out on it. It always seemed
to take hours to get it in the water,
and then the motors wouldn’t work or something,
and he would have to fiddle with it! They say the
happiest days for a boater are they day they buy
the boat and the day they sell the boat!
I can see why! Your Papa loved the movie
Fiddler on the Roof, he loved to sing the
song If I was a Rich Man! My Dad might not
have got to spend alot of time with us
but he always made sure it was QUALITY TIME.

I love the page and all of the journaling. Those little things, the gum, the story about the cup of change...are all so wonderful. Those are the kinds of things we tend to remember, and that make us feel good...
