Poster: bthiels (see this users gallery) An old photo of relatives, circa 1925 Journaling: Etty is France Taylor’s daughter. France and Grover were brothers, sons of Martin and Elizabeth. We would pass their house before getting to grandma’s house, but they lived very close. Hazel and Reba had their dolls with them--they look size-appropriate, don’t they? That the children are posing in a “settee” which is outside in the yard is interesting. Makes me wonder why it’s outside; it looks too good to be trashed (this is around 1925 and they aren’t affluent families). Maybe they moved it out to give the living room a good cleaning. Or maybe they just obtained it and had not yet moved it into their house. Hmm.. The building on the slope to the right was probably the corn crib or maybe the smokehouse where they cured hams and bacon. From the lay of the land, this looks like it could have been the Grover Taylor home (my grandparents). There was a creek that ran behind the house and the barn was across the creek to the leftof the smokehouse. It had changed somewhat by the time I was born and brought to visit; of course, this could also be the home of an entirely different family. In this early snapshot of Willie, I can see the resemblance to the woman she became.

I too love how you have done the journaling, especially where is goes around the corner of the frame. Love the colors you have chosen, they match the color of the old photo well. A lovely layout. Well done

Love that picture! It is so hard to tell which are the girls and which are the dolls! I love the way the journaling turns the corner of the photo!
