On Friday, January 9th, we had been out shopping with Grammy all day long. My back had been aching all day and I just wanted to come
home and sit. Grammy kept telling Daddy that I would be going into labor that night… For dinner that night I made tacos, but I didn’t eat
well, because I just wasn’t feeling “right”. My back was still achy, so I took a bath to soak away the pain. While I was in the bath I went
ahead and shaved my legs, just in case Grammy was right… That night, at 2:45 am, something woke me up. I thought things felt a little damp
in my nether regions, so I went into the bathroom to check things out. As soon as I went to sit on the throne, my water broke… It *really*
broke! It was pretty nasty. I sat there on the throne for a second, kind of in shock, wondering what to do next… Grammy was asleep on the
couch, and Daddy was asleep in bed. I decided that Grammy would be able to hear me better, so I called for her a couple times, but she
didn’t wake up. So then I tried calling for Daddy, and he was at the bathroom door in a second flat! I told him that my water
broke, and then all you know what broke loose! While I attemptedtoclean up, and kind of mopped up the floor with a towel,
Daddy called the hospital and they said to come in… By then Grammy had woken up… So we all dressed and got loaded into
the Explorer and off to Providence we went… At that point I wasn’t having any contractions, but my back was aching more
than it had been on Friday… When we got there we went straight to the maternity ward on the 3rd floor and checked
in at the nurse’s station, and we were taken to our room (#3K08). The nurse gave me a gown, and sent me into the
bathroom to change. She also took a sample off my pad, to make sure my water had really broke.

How wonderful this is to document the event. Your little one will definatly know what transpired on the their birthday! Journaling is so tough and it is an honor that you have shared it with us! Thank you!
