Journaling Reads: I believe this photo of Edrie Taylor when she was 39 years old was taken near Grundy, VA. It was April l957, a little over 2 month after the FLOOD of 1957, when the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River flooded eastern KY. The girl with my mom was the wife of one of the construction workers who worked with my dad for Turner Brothers Construction Company out of Roanoke, VA. When the flood hit, there were several mobile homes near the bank of a creek, maybe Clear Creek -- one of them ours. This looks like the area where the mobile homes were anchored. The water came up fast. Dad used his bulldozer to pull them to higher ground and safety. None were lost.
