BugsBrunchBuffet

Photo Details
Poster: retro  (see this users gallery)

I found these fierce looking little fellows while I was pruning my ivy and just had to snap them. I made a temporary diner for them and served them some nice juicy aphids. You should have seen how quickly they cleared their plates! I hope that when they finally morph into big ladybirds they´ll see this neon buffet sign above my roses and come back for dessert.

I created this page using one of Mary Ridgeway´s April Surprise QPs, recoloured it and added the little fellows´ mama so that they´d watch their table manners.

Interesting...that explains their coloring, and why ladybugs are natural preditors for aphids...I have never seen the young when young!

Wow! I never knew what lady bugs looked like before they were ladybugs! Thought they always looked like ladybugs! How cool and interesting! Love the close up pictures! Awesome!

Wow, I've never seen ladybugs in young stages either! I love the idea of an aphid buffet. The little buggers do love roses. We've bought bags of ladybugs at nurserys that we released over our flowers. I'm sure your ladybugs will stay at your free diner!

Very cool! I'm another one who didn't know what a baby ladybug looks like.
Had to show my daughter this one. She loves it too! So two thumbs up!
