I debated about history...which obits always contains wonderful history especially those in the early 1900s.
Decided to go with relationship...inspiration...to future generation based on my great-grandmother Collett. This is information that had never been passed down to me until I found the obit. Now scrapped...it will continue to be passed down. It would take 3 or 4 pages to scrap the whole obit.
Journaling:
Her religion was very practical. She felt if she could not use it to make people happy it was worthless to her. It is said that no one ever went to her home that did not receive the kindest treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Collett moved to Crosby County early in 1891. In 1900 they moved to their present home just south of Roaring Springs where they gave their influence and assistance in opening the new country. They had lived on the same farm for 26 years, reared their family and were a father and mother to all the young people of the early days. It has always been the delight of the young people to go to this home where they knew that Mother Collett (familiarly known) would always have a good dinner and they could have a great time. When the cowboys of early days would go to this home, Mrs. Collett never asked them if they were hungry. It mattered not what was the hour, she excused herself, prepared a meal and invited them to eat. Her life and influence was felt in many ways and always for the right.

She must have been quite wonderful! How lovely for you to learn all this about her and be able to pass it on in this beautiful page. Helen's kit was great for it - I just love the beaded frame. Just perfect how you set up the designs.

Great journaling...and I have to say this is one of the first "unsmiling photos" taken back at that time that you can tell she had all she could do to not smile, because her eyes are! Sounds like a wonderful woman and wish we had many more like her!
