Your journaling is so interesting and gives such insight to the man behind the photos of your grandfather. It also makes me quite sad to think of the mother he left behind. The larger photo is really spectacular with the play of light and shade on his face. Thank you for using my QP for this wonderful addition to your family scrapbook.

I don't think we can appreciate what people went through back then..their family leaves and no internet, the times were hard and to know you may never see them again... it would be hard and heartbreaking for a mother. Lovely journaling and handsome guy!
