This was my first Father's Day without Dad...scrapping this page was good therapy for me and a great memory of him to pass down to my kids....interesting, no tears until just now...guess I was just so wrapped up in the story and not that he's no longer with us.
Journaling here: Then stood there on those tremblin' knees...And waited for the worst.
He said, "Let me tell you a secret about a father's love

Journaling on 2nd Page: A vivid picture came to mind when I read this portion of the song Love Without End, Amen by George Straight. Though not a son, I stood with my knees tremblin' when I had to tell my Dad about getting my very first speeding ticket. Dad had an all business stern side to him as you can see in the one photo and that was what I was expecting.
Each photo tells a part of the story. Dad raised Chinchillas along with his regular job and was working in the chinchilla house when I got home...so, I added this photo of dad at a show for chinchillas...notice the less stern face...lol! I got my ticket coming home from shopping for decorations for our church's Valentine Banquet. Thus, the photo of me taken at the Valentine Banquet...was always disappointed that I had my eyes closed, but perfect for this LO because I'm sure I said a quick Thank you, Lord when Dad was so calm about me getting a ticket. He just told me that he had a tendency to speed at times, too. Then informed me I would be using my own money to pay for the ticket and to go after school to the Justice of Peace. The Justice refused to except payment without a parent present even though I assured him I had told my dad. The next day Dad went with me and told the Justice of the Peace that he had told me to come yesterday, that I was paying with my own money, that I was a good kid and wasn't speeding intentionally, and even mentioned to the Justice that he goes over the speed limit at times without realizing it. That's my Dad...thank you Lord, Amen!

What a great memory to have and use of the lyrics for the challenge! I love the old photos of you and your dad! Great page!

What a great story and a loving tribute to your Dad. We never want to disappoint our parents and yet what we might think is a disappointment might just be a learning experience.
