Journaling:
During the ten months prior to the cruise, Liz, KT and I conversed on the Cruise Critic Forum with several other people taking the same cruise we were. We got to know each other fairly well. As a result, a webpage was put together to display pictures of everyone to put a faces with user names. We all decided we needed a pre-meet and mingle during the Sail-away of our cruise. We knew we wanted some refreshments and we wanted to meet at a bar outside near the pool area. I posted a photo on the forum from a previous cruise of the pool area. We noticed something that looked like red and green balloons on either side of the Sky Bar on Deck 12, so we chose to meet at the red balloon. Next was to choose a meeting time. The ship sailed at 5:00 and they held a Safety Muster at 4:30, so we decided to meet at 3:00 to give us time to chat and have refreshments. Duck111 and I always talked about drinking Long Island Ice Teas. He shocked everyone with his generous offer to buy a LIIT for the first 40 people who came to the pre-meet and mingle. Jani created the unique abbreviation PSUMAMBTPBWLIITGOBD, which stood for "Pre-Sailaway Unofficial Meet and Mingle By The Pool Bar With Long Island Iced Teas Generously Offered By Duck111". When we boarded the ship, we changed our clothes and headed directly to the meeting location. It was wonderful to meet everyone face-to-face. The refreshments provided by Mr. Life of the Party, Duck111, were excellent. The pre-meet and mingle was a great stepping stone for the rest of the cruise, because where ever you were on the ship, you always knew someone. Chuck and I still keep in touch. On each of our cruises since then we have had the same type of pre-meet and mingle.
Note:
I finished Part 2 of these 2 layouts over a year ago. I kind of remember what I wanted to include on Part 1, but not really. I'm not sure, at this point, if I'm satisfied with this layout. It does tell more of the story with journaling than with photos, so maybe it's alright.
