Found this sun-bleached shell of an Armadillo while walking through the woods...some very unusual texture which I used for the paper. Recolored the three smaller ones to accent colors in the photos.

Journaling and Armadillo photos from the National Geographic website
Did you know? The nine-banded armadillo’s hapless propensity for being run over by cars has earned it the nickname “Hillbilly Speed Bump.”

"Jack-in-the-box lift-off vaults an alarmed armadillo three feet [about one meter] into the air. The fright reflex is often fatal when the ancient mammal meets its worst modern enemy—the car—and springs against the moving chassis. But the decline of natural predators, such as wildcats and wolves, has helped the South American native make a remarkable leap in range and population across the southern United States." —From "The Astonishing Armadillo," June 1982, National Geographic magazine Photograph by Bianca Lavies

Wow...interesting...that one in mid air is weird...and the photo just above it is a bit odd looking also... never seen anything quite like it before...

Love your title! Interesting information on the Armadillo! I had never heard any of this before. Love the use of the different pictures to add impact to the page and journaling! TFS!

Very interesting. Great texture! When we were in Missouri, they were migrating into our area where they really had never taken hold before. The farmers were troubled by the holes they dig in their fields. They are a silly looking animal and not dangerous in themselves, but they can be a problem for farmers.
