Today was Matthew’s first day of the 8th grade at
Brandywine Middle School. It was also a day where I
felt like I was NEVER going to get out of the car!
The day started off with us waiting to catch the bus, which was supposed to come at 7:21 according to the schedule posted in the school newspaper, only to glace out the window at 7:00am
and see the bus stopped at the end of the driveway... which we let go, because Matthew didn’t even have his shoes on yet, and we didn’t want them to have to wait.
So, my Taxi shift began at 7:20am.
Then I drove to the job site where Jeff was working for Foegley’s and picked him up so that he could go to the Morris Inn on the. Notre Dame campus and tune their piano. It was soooooo hot! I parked the car in the shade of some trees in the parking lot to wait and read my book, and as always of late, I had my camera in my purse, so I took this photo of the infamous Golden Dome of Notre Dame. It was so humid, and the piano was moved from an air conditioned location, to outside under a tent... needless to say, the piano was horribly
out of tune, and poor Jeff was sweating buckets while he tried to get it tuned! This kept my meter running for over 2.5 hours!
Then my next fare on the taxi run was to take Jeff back to the Job Site for Foegley.
I then drove back to head-quarters, to pick up my
next fair, which was Matthew who was in dire need of a hair cut for School photos the next day. The drive home, and then my shift of taxi driving was finally at an end! Both of the occupants were lousy tippers!

arrrgghhhh!!! You must have been a wreck when you finally got back home! It's a good story and a great page for your scrapbook. I hope you don't have to be a taxi like that again anytime soon. I would charge more if I were you. LOL!
