The rhododendron has been many things to Dora, first her puppy hideaway, then for a couple of years it was the perfect victim on which to practise her radical pruning skills. Now, as you can see, it´s used as her toy box. You´ll also notice that, though it bloomed beautifully this year, it´s grown very tall and lanky as if it´s trying to outgrow her and her teeth. It´s also given up producing leaves on - what´s left of - its lower branches and who can blame it?.
