For years I admired the historic photo of Canyon de Chelly on the cover of my book of Edward Curtis photographs. I also read about the plight of the Navajo who lived there before Kit Carson burned their orchards driving them out for a time. The older cliff dwellings there were additional attractions. Finally in 2007 we were able to visit the canyon and found it captivating, especially during our jeep tour.
