Poster: scrapladyandmore (see this users gallery) Just made a batch of this wonderful dip...doesn't look so good, but tastes great. Thought I would share a part of my Texas New Year with everyone. Hope you enjoy. Texas Caviar 2 cans black-eyed peas, drained and mashed (Can use black-eyed peas with jalapeno if you prefer more spicy 4 ounce can of chopped green chilies (I use 2 cans if I don’t use the jalapeno peas) 2 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons green onions, chopped 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 5 ounce jar of Old English sharp cheddar spread (may substitute other sharp cheese and/or Velvetta) Warm black-eyed peas and process in a food processor or mash with fork or potato masher. Combine all ingredients and heat until cheese is melted. Serve warm with chips.
