Going through the pictures from Grandma, I very few pre-color pictures and only one very old one of some people who look like they are related to my grandmother. However, it was nice doing this layout and remembering things about my grandparents.
Let me know what you think of the LO. My older children have very differing opinions.
Note: The large background paper was made by exclusion overlaying dconditt bg17 over dconditt bg13 and then using one of my overlays over them. The smaller paper on the bottom is JHanson Paper3, which I also made into a ribbon. The papers behind the photo are: Jburkhart paper1, and RMD papers - felt purple, papeer 6 with the dots embossed, and felt aqua. The buttons I created from the paper funkyflowers_CAZ. The rest is mine.

Lovely layout and striking elements. I wonder if some of the controversy in the family is about the bright colors. I think they work well, but you might see if fewer of them would quiet the critics. Really nice as is!

I think your layout is a great way to blend the past and the present - heritage photo and elements with modern colors and style!
