ok, I admit it, I didn't realize there were black sand beaches! I learned something new today! So is the sand black because of volcano's? Wonderful page... I love the soft colors with the black... very pretty! Thanks for sharing and for participating in the color challenge!

WOW! Thats amazing, I had never heard of these beaches either. I love the way you have used the kit for your pages, they look great. Those little blue flowers look good grouped together and go so well with the black and the green background. Thanks again for joining in and I think your album is wonderful.

Thanks for the lovely comments!
The sand is ocean ground lava which is why it's black. Ever since finding out about their existance I've wanted to see one. It's really neat, and smells like regular sand. Now, there is also a green sand beach on the Big Island which we didn't visit (this may call for another trip!). It, as I was told, is green from the sulpher in the rock/lava. This one could have a peculiar smell.

Wow, the colors really pop in this. Love those photos. I had heard of black sand from lava but had never seen any pictures before. Thanks for sharing, I am going to show this to my ds later too, I know he will think its really cool.
