Poster: PatinParis (see this users gallery) Christmas 1958. My mom had remarried and had my little brother. Of course with the new marriage, new half brother, came the new grandmother. At all of the holidays we tried to always get as much family together as possible, this Chrismas 1958 was no exception. I saw a television program just the other evening where the two grandmothers were actually competing for the single grandchilds attention. Seeing this photo brought back a flood of memories, and now realizing that at least for the photos, the grandmothers were in a silent competition and being very territorial! I remember Ken's grandmother putting her hand out on Kens shoulder, looking back I am not sure it was not to stead him on the rocking horse...but after my grandmother putting her hand on my shoulder. Journaling: I can remember when this photo was taken. The big discussion of pictures with the grandchildren. It finally ended up with Ken and his paternal gma behind him and my maternal gma behind me. Not understanding at the time the silent competition!
