Family Tree

Several members of our family have done research on our family tree and it is a fascinating area to look into. I was able to trace my husband's family back to 1570 when they moved from France to Switzerland. The Swiss are meticulous about keeping records so it was easy to trace his family. Before 1570, the French records are murky at best but it would be nice to find information about the family when they lived in France. The research has given me a new appreciation for the struggles that we go through to make a life for our families. Most of our families came over in some port on the east coast and made there way west.

Though it doesn't reflect a full family tree, this template is based on those photograph trees you see online and at gift stores. I created it as a template so that all anyone needs to do is resize their photos and place them behind the template. I also included an additional oval frame and four branches so that you can add more photos to the page. This is what I did on the sample layout. In fact I did not change the template at all when I used it. I just added two oval frames so I could have more photos.

Yo Carol

This family tree is a wonderful idea. I've never seen this in scrapbooking before.

Thanks everyone, last year I helped my daughter work on a family tree and I caught the geneology bug. Some geneology sites sell trees but they are expensive.
